In the shadowy annals of Nigerian politics, few tales rival the audacious plot hatched by the All Progressives Congress (APC) a decade ago.
Reports –, confessions – abound that the APC, desperate for power, midwifed the reign of terror to paint then-President Goodluck Jonathan as incompetent. Today, as the monster they created devours the nation whole, the same APC huddles in denial, whimpering about “foreign interference” while Plateau weeps, Kaduna bleeds, and Abuja trembles. Enough! It’s time for President Bola Tinubu and his APC cabal to own their evil creation or face the wrath of a nation they betrayed.
THE BIRTH OF A POLITICAL DEMON: APC’S 2015 POWER GRAB
Flashback to 2014-2015: Boko Haram, already a festering sore under Jonathan, exploded into a national apocalypse. Why? Because the APC weaponized it. APC governors jetted to Washington, begging Uncle Sam to oust Jonathan over “failing” to crush the insurgents. They staged “Salvation Rallies” in Abuja, accusing Jonathan of “depopulating the North” with his anti-terror ops.
The smoking gun? APC chieftains like Kawu Baraje confessed to importing bandits for electoral chaos. Obama-era USAID? Fingerprints all over Boko Haram funding to destabilize Jonathan. Arms embargo? APC lobbied for it, blocking Jonathan’s fightback. Chibok girls? A scripted psy-op, with APC defying warnings to hold exams there.
Result? APC swept to power in 2015 on a river of blood. Buhari promised to “end insurgency in three months.” A decade later? Boko Haram mutated into ISWAP, bandits, and kidnappers now uncontrollable.
FROM NORTHERN JIHAD TO SOUTHEASTERN GENOCIDE: APC’S REIGN OF STATE TERROR
The bloodlust did not stop at the Sahel. Under Muhammadu Buhari (2015–2023), the APC weaponized the Nigerian state against Igbo youth in the Southeast, transforming legitimate agitation into a pretext for state-sponsored ethnic cleansing.
• Operation Python Dance (2017): What began as a routine military exercise morphed into a door-to-door massacre in Abia and Anambra. Soldiers stormed Nnamdi Kanu’s home in Umuahia, killing 28 unarmed IPOB sympathizers in a single afternoon confirmed by Amnesty International.
• Obigbo Massacre (2020): After #EndSARS protests, Buhari’s government imposed a curfew and unleashed the Army on Oyigbo, Rivers State. Over 40 Igbo youths were executed extrajudicially, homes torched, and bodies dumped in rivers all while APC governors like Hope Uzodinma cheered the carnage.
• Daily Abductions & Killings: From 2015 to 2023, over 3,000 Igbo youths were killed or disappeared by security forces, according to the International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law. Many were labeled “IPOB terrorists” without evidence, shot on sight, or buried in mass graves.
Buhari’s own words in 2015 – “The Python will dance again” – became a death sentence for any Igbo youth daring to protest marginalization. APC-controlled media branded them “dot-in-a-circle,” while the military received billions in “security votes” to fund the slaughter.
This was no coincidence. The same playbook used against Jonathan in the North was redeployed in the Southeast: create chaos, blame the victim, consolidate power. Only this time, the victims were unarmed civilians demanding equity, not insurgents.
THE CHICKENS COME HOME TO ROOST: APC’S REIGN OF FAILURE
Fast-forward to Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope.” Hope for whom? Christians slaughtered in Plateau, Benue, Kaduna . Abuja forests as kidnapper lairs. Over 100,000 dead since 2015 – more than under Jonathan. And in the Southeast? A generation radicalized, IPOB stronger than ever, and “unknown gunmen” a direct offspring of state terror.
Tinubu’s response? Pardons for terrorists, recruitment scandals, and gaslighting. “It’s not just Christians!” they cry, as if Muslim blood doesn’t stain their hands too. Trump slaps Nigeria with “Country of Particular Concern”? Karma’s invoice has arrived – the same tag APC begged for against Jonathan.
APC’s hypocrisy is galling. They mocked Jonathan as “terror enabler,” photoshopped him with Shekau. Now? Silence on state police, no emergency on insecurity. Just deflection: “Opposition sabotage!”
OWN UP, APC – OR PERISH IN YOUR LIE
Mr. President, the evil you sired has rooted deep – from Sambisa to Aba. Deny it no more. Convene a national confession: Admit APC’s role in birthing terror and slaughtering Igbo youth. Sack failed service chiefs. Roll out a grass root security architecture and embark on police reform NOW. Probe the 2015 arms deals, USAID links, Operation Python Dance atrocities, and the Obigbo genocide.
Nigerians aren’t fools. From Ijaw creeks to Igbo heartlands, Yoruba farms to Hausa villages – we demand accountability. APC rode terror to Aso Rock; now dismount or be trampled.
The alternative? Revolution. As posts scream: “The monsters APC created are now eating them.”
Nigeria will heal – but only if APC slays its own demon first.
